Topic: Introduction to Autonomous Systems and Their Applications
- Date: 5th January 2026
- Mode: In-Person
- Attendees: B Tech Cybersecurity 2nd Year
- Total Attendees: 60 above students approximately
Dr. Yong Wang, Associate Professor and Associate School Director at the School of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering, Binghamton University (SUNY), USA, visited the NMIMS Mumbai campus at MPSTME on 5 January 2026. During his visit, he conducted an in-person interactive session titled “Introduction to Autonomous Systems and Their Applications” from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Classroom 508. The session was attended by approximately 60 students from the B.Tech Cybersecurity (Second Year) program. Autonomous systems are intelligent technologies capable of performing tasks and making decisions with minimal or no human intervention. They integrate sensing, computation, and control to operate effectively in dynamic environments. Such systems are widely applied in areas such as robotics, transportation, healthcare, cybersecurity, and industrial automation.
Dr. Wang provided an overview of autonomous systems, their underlying technologies, and real-world applications across various industries. The interaction encouraged active student participation through questions and discussions. The session proved to be highly informative and offered students valuable exposure to emerging global trends in autonomous and intelligent systems.
