Vice Chancellor's Profile

Dr. N. M. Kondap is the Vice Chancellor & Professor of Marketing of SVKM’s NMIMS University, Mumbai. He holds a Masters Degree in Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Marketing Management from the University of Mumbai. He has Ph. D. degree in Management from the University of Pune.

Dr. Kondap has more than 27 years of industry experience in companies like ABB, Voltas, Bharat Bijlee, in different capacities, the last being Senior Vice-President (Export & Marketing) and more than 27 years of academic experience in teaching in various Management Institutions. He has made significant contributions towards social development. He is a Rotary Chair Professor for Non-profit Organizations of Rotary Club of Bombay West. 

Some of his significant achievements/nominations are:

  • Dr. N.M. Kondap has been honoured by Dr. P. N. Singh Foundation with the conferment of Prof. Dharni Sinha Memorial Award for Excellence in Management Education in recognition of his extensive contribution to the field of Management Education in India.”
  • Associated with the Committee constituted by the Chairman, UGC to deliberate the issues of setting up of 30 new Central Universities, as a Special Invitee.
  • Nominated by University Grants Commission on the Executive Council of NAAC for a period of three years.
  • Nominated by the Chairman of the UGC as a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal, Punjab.
  • Nominated as Co-chairman  of the Higher Education Committee of FICCI -2007-08
  • Conferred the Amity Academic Excellence Award towards significant contribution in the field of Education and Research by Amity International Business School on  23rd February, 2007.
  • Indian Council of Management Executives conferred “Order of Merit 2005-Samajshri Award” in November 2005.
  • Nominated by the Governing Board of Editors American Biographical Institute, Inc. USA: for the prestigious title “Man of the Year 2003” for over all accomplishments and contribution to the Society.
  •  “Best Innovations in Teaching Award” at the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) Convention held at IIM, Bangalore, in August 2000.
