Overview

Today’s world is one of a global community. Solutions to tomorrows’ problems cannot be realized without addressing concerns and perspectives from different countries and cultures. Academic Institutions become the melting pots for cross-cultural interactions providing a platform for young minds to interact and share knowledge.

In the era of globalization, internationalization has become a very important criterion for universities. Realizing that international higher education and re¬search are a major opportunity for growth, many have been expanding their international engagements, and have invested in quality teaching, research and infrastructure.

The past two years saw a number of International delegates at the NMIMS campus. Attracted by the new dynamic international focus of our University, the visitors were keen on signing MoUs for collaborations on joint degrees, student/faculty exchanges and research. This positive response from institutions abroad encouraged NMIMS to set up an office exclusively for International Relations in 2008. The mission is to take a quantum leap in internationalization through a more focused approach.

The International Relations Office takes care of affairs related to internationalization of the University: student / faculty exchange, co-ordination of visits/study tour programs of foreign delegates and students, and co-ordination of all collaborative efforts of NMIMS with universities abroad. The office also supports international students in the transitional phase, helping them to settle down at NMIMS / Mumbai. It also serves as an adviser on immigration, accommodation, academic and adjustment issues.

NMIMS is proud of its position as a leading university in India and values its relationships with top universities, government bodies, research and industry organizations. The University attracts distinguished visitors from around the world and attaches great importance to the contribution these visits make to its internationalization process.
