A. Examination related Documents and procedures

  • The Re-exam registration date/s are mentioned in the Re-examination timetable under the heading “Important Instructions to the Candidates”. Eligible candidate can register online through given “SAP student portal” link & by paying the prescribed re-exam fees. Registration window will be open only for the given of period of time & candidate who register through student portal only be allowed to appear for the re-examination. Candidate who fail to apply should further follow the examination rules mentioned in Student Rule Book as no application will be accepted after the given time limit.

  • After the declaration of Final/Re-exam Result/s, if a student is not satisfied with the term end exam marks awarded to him/her for the Term End Exam subject/s, then he/she can apply for Grievance Redressal online through “SAP student portal” by paying the prescribed fees.

  • Below is the time line to apply for Grievance Redressal Mechanism. No application will be accepted after the given time limit. Further to which student has to adhere to the examination rules mentioned in Student Rule Book.

A Transcript is the consolidated document or a summary about the academic information of the student for a given programme. The said transcript will have information about the programme pursued by a student, year of enrolment, year of completion, duration of the Program, the Medium of instructions etc.It also contains the information as regards to courses/ subjects offered in each trimester/ semester in an academic year with the credits earned for each subject, grades obtained by the student, Grade Point Average after each trimester/semester, Cumulative Grade Point Average till date. A Transcript also gives additional explanation of the credit structure of the University and is issued on University Letterhead and it is the authenticate document issued by the competent authority of the University.

How do I apply for a transcript?

Students should read the instructions carefully before applying. Student will receive an e-transcript on their registered email id. For hard copy of transcript student should select the required option carefully at the time of applying.

A Statement of Marks/ Percentage letter contains Statement of marks obtained (as the case may be) for each course/ subject, for each trimester/ semester and the aggregate percentage obtained by a student till date. This letter is issued only on the application made by the student for placement purpose and / or for application to Universities for higher studies. Name correction in degree certificate/ Grade Sheet

The student should approach the NMIMS Admission dept. with authentic and relevant proofs for getting correction in the name, mother’s name or father’s name / husband’s name in the grade sheet / Degree certificate. Once the student gets an acknowledgement of change in the name/ details from NMIMS admission office, he/ she may approach School examination department for doing the needful.

Fee payable: Rs. 200 per grade sheet and Rs. 500 Charges are applicable after the completion Convocation of the particular batch.

NMIMS follows a grading scheme (given in students resource book of each school) leading to the award of four-point Grade Point Average (GPA) for each trimester/semester and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) for all the trimesters/semesters till date. Wherever relative grading followed, there is no formula to convert CGPA into percentage. In such case, a student may apply for statement of marks which gives marks and overall percentage obtained. The student may request a provisional degree certificate by writing to the relevant examination department and enclosing documentation to support their request.

A Grade sheet is a Statement,showing Grades obtained in each course by the candidate in an academic year in each Trimester/ Semester.Grade sheets will be issued annually from Academic year 2019-2020 onwards at the End of every Academic year.

B. FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

The “SRB” (Student’s Resource Book), is the document which provides the information, guidelines and rules related to academics, attendance, examination, library, placement, and day to day functioning of the school. All students are bound by the rules mentioned in SRB.

How the students will get information on Final/Re-Exam dates/time table?

Information about Final/Re-examination dates are available in the Academic Calendar of the Student Resource Book of the respective school of every academic year. The Academic calendar is also shared by the Academic dept at the beginning of Academic year. The Final/Re- exam time-table is published approximately 30 – 45 days prior to the commencement of examination. The student can view this time table on the Student Portal as well as on the NMIMS website (https://nmims.edu/examination).

Who can apply for re-examination?

Student who was Absent/Fail or score D grade in Final /Re- Exam can apply for re-exam. Read the Promotion/Progression rule given in SRB to understand the eligble number of attempts the student can appear for a particular semester/trimester re-examination.

What if a student does not apply for the re-examination in the given time period? Is there any provision of application by collecting extra fee?

There is no provision for apply for re-examination after the registration window is closed as per the time slot given in the Re-Examination time table. In such case, the student concerned lose the chance to appear for the re-examination.
